As part of the final year of the curriculem, I will have to create a 1-2 minute film together with 4 to 5 other students. To get an impression of what that project, the workflow and pipeline will be like, we got a simular course in the second year where we work on 2 smaller projects in one semester.

My personal favourite was the Big Liz project, where a lizard creature had to cause a ruckus in an environment by our choice. Together with my team, we decided to have a lizard in a sushi bar, eating wasabi, causing it to spit fire and jum around in panic.

It was not necessary to create the entire project from scratch. We were allowed to use pre made models, rigs and environments. All this so we could go all loose with animation and VFX.

I was mainly responsible for the animation of the lizard, but I have also made improvements to the rig we have used, as animating the lizard caused a lot of artifacts at first try. The shoulders had to be moved outwards and the skinning had be redone for most of the model. In addition I created additonal controllers for better facial expressions. And finally I did preproduction for the storytelling.
